Owakudani
Around a crater that was formed by the eruption of Mt. Hakone thousands of years ago.  Now a tourist attraction.  Eggs cooked in the area's thermal heat sources, are a true Hakone specialty. The legend has it that eating one is said to add seven years to your life.

When you plan a trip to Japan mention to your travel agent "Hakone"; they should be able to provide you with all the information on transportation and even make tour reservations to make it easy for non Japanese speakers. I would recommend making all the travel arrangements prior to leaving for the trip.  In Japan most people don’t speak English but they do understand the basics and getting around for non Japanese speakers is not so much of a problem. The large hotels in Tokyo and other large cities in Japan will always have someone that speaks english. But once you start traveling into smaller towns you will find that english speaking personel is harder to come.
