Japan is a beautiful and amazing place. My husband and I visited Japan for our honeymoon and we fell in love. We stayed for a little over two weeks and I have to say that it was not nearly enough time to even see 1/10th of what Japan has to offer. We've been all over the world and this is our favorite place. Japan is a very warm country and the people are wonderful and are always ready to help which makes it easy for non japanese speaking visitors. We were very surprised how easy it was to get around even though we did not speak a word of Japanese. Large cities will have signs in english and public transportation like trains will have the stop names in english. Most people don't really speak english but they do understand so they will point out the direction or the right train. A lot but not all restaurants have english menus even in the big cities but they will have a menu with pictures or displays that you can take a guess point to. We found out that when it comes to food in Japan you can't go wrong with anything you choose. The food is amazing and plenty of places to try it out. Japan (Eyewitness Travel Guides)
